“And if it can’t be fun, what’s the point?” -Donald Trump
Paintings should be fun. They should be your heroes, your loves, the stories you and your people share. Bold visions, great moments, epic battles and legendary tales should adorn your walls.
The old masters painted their heroes, their tales, and their legends. Paintings of a minotaur, or the epic battles of Hercules are no different than a painting of Cthulhu or a light saber duel with Luke Skywalker. These are our stories, these are our legends, and our heroes. They should be painted and enjoyed. There once were great paintings of sea captains, ships, still life grapes on a table with cheese, great leaders, historic events, noblewomen, and even an oddly high number of paintings of French prostitutes. Now we aim to make great paintings of Klingons, space ships, Jumbo Jack combos, presidents, memes, generals, TV stars, Hef’s bunnies and models. There is probably still going to be an oddly high number of paintings depicting French prostitutes though. Like, that’s just how art works, it’s a thing.
Inspired by a line from Donald Trump’s Trump: The Art of the Deal this website aims to think big again, dream big again, reembrace the themes and subjects that once made paintings so awesome, and to Make Painting Great Again.
